Judah the Maccabee
Judah the Maccabee (2nd cent. BCE). Jewish warrior. Judah Maccabee was the third son of Mattathias, the Hasmonean, who led the revolt against the rule of Antiochus Epiphanes in Erez Israel. The story of his campaigns is told in the Books of Maccabees.
