1. Gothic late-C12 and C13 stylized three-lobed carved foliage, usually an enrichment of bosses and capitals (see capital illustration (1) ) evolved from crocketed capital designs, mostly English rather than Continental, and is characteristic of First Pointed work.

2. In Neo-Classical ornament, a vertical leaf-or feather-form repeated in series on e.g. friezes.
