Let's Go to Prison ★½ 2006 (R)

What we have here is a failure to entertain. John Lyshitski (Shepard) is a bitter excon who plots revenge on the judge who sent him up the river three times. John sets up the judge's preppy son Nelson (Arnett), then gets himself thrown back in the pokey so he can give Nelson terrible advice on prison survival. Standard jokes about bad food, soap-dropping and license plates ensue. Eventually, situations involving a psycho white supremacist (Shannon) and an amorous black prisoner (McBride) turn the tables on John. It's not very funny considering the comedy pedigree of director Odenkirk and the majority of the cast. 84m/C DVD . US Dax Shepard, Will Arnett, Chi McBride, David Koechner, Dylan Baker, Michael Shannon; D: Bob Odenkirk; W: Robert Ben Garant, Thomas Lennon, Michael Patrick Jann; C: Ramsay Nickell; M: Alan Elliott.
