Feng Keng (1907–1931)
Chinese poet and short-story writer. Born 1907 in Guangdong Province, China; executed 1931.
Active in leftist politics, joined underground Communist Party (1929); along with 4 other writers (now known as the Five Martyrs), was arrested and executed by the Guomindang near the Longhua temple in the southwest of Shanghai (1931); stories include "The Salt Miner" and "The Child Pedlar"; wrote poetry to protest 1927 massacre of Communists in Shanghai.
