Gymnoascales
Gymnoascales (subdivision Ascomycotina) An order of fungi in which the ascocarps are cleistothecioid (see CLEISTOTHECIUM), although sometimes without a definite wall or peridium. The family includes the perfect (sexual) stages of a number of important skin pathogens (dermatophytes).
