Walt Bartram Memorial Education Awards (Region 12 and Chapter 119) (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote higher education to students from New Mexico, Arizona or Southern California. Focus: Manufacturing. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduating high school senior enrolling as a full-time college or university student; must be a current SME Chapter member (except high school students); must pursue a degree in manufacturing engineering or related field in New Mexico, Arizona or Southern California; have a GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Preference is given to the applicants who will best meet the requirements.

Caterpillar Scholars Award (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist high school seniors and undergraduate students in their college education. Focus: Manufacturing. Qualif.: Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in a degree program in manufacturing engineering in the U.S. or Canada; must have completed a minimum of 30 college credit hours (minority applicants may apply as incoming freshmen); have GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who participated in a STEPS camp.

Arthur and Gladys Cervenka Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote higher education to students. Focus: Manufacturing; Technology. Qualif.: Applicant must be an undergraduate student enrolled fulltime in a degree program in manufacturing engineering or technology; have completed a minimum of 30 college credit hours; have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Preference is given, but not limited to, the students in the state of Florida.

Chapter 4 - Lawrence A. Wacker Memorial Awards (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist high school seniors and undergraduate students to continue their education. Focus: Manufacturing; Mechanical engineering; Engineering, Industrial. Qua-lif.: Applicant must pursue a bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical or industrial engineering; have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; must reside and attend an accredited institution in the U.S. or Canada. Criteria: Scholarship committee will give special considerations for: First preference: applicants who are Chapter 4 members (spouses, children or grandparents); Second preference: applicants who reside within Wisconsin counties (Milwaukee, Ozau-kee, Washington and Waukesha); Third preference: applicants who reside within the state of Wisconsin.

Purpose: To financially support students in their education. Focus: Manufacturing; Technology. Qualif.: Applicants must be undergraduate students enrolled full-time in a degree program in manufacturing, technology, or a closely related field in the U.S. or Canada; have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Preference is given, but not limited to, applicants residing in the eastern part of the U.S.

Purpose: To financially support students who wish to pursue their education. Focus: Manufacturing; Engineering, Industrial. Qualif.: Applicants must be enrolled full-time or part-time undergraduate in a manufacturing engineering, industrial technology or other manufacturing related degree program; have a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Recipient selection is based on: First preference: residing within the boundaries of St. Lewis Chapter 17; Second preference: residing within the state of Missouri.

Chapter 23 - Quad Cities Iowa/Illinois Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Qualif.: Applicant must be an undergraduate student or entering freshman pursuing a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or related field on an accredited college or university in Iowa or Illinois; have a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Chapter One - Detroit Founding Chapter Scholarships (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially support students in their education. Focus: Manufacturing. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduate or undergraduate students enrolled full-time or part-time in a manufacturing, manufacturing engineering technology or any related degree or certificate program in the following institutions: Wayne State University, Student Chapter S004; Lawrence Technological University, Student Chapter S011; University of Detroit-Mercy, Student Chapter S081; Focus: Hope, Center for Advanced Technologies, Student Chapter S279; Henry Ford Community College, Student Chapter S331; Macomb Community College, Student Chapter S071; University of Michigan - Dearborn, Student Chapter S326. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; and must demonstrate good character and leadership. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who are active in SME Student Chapter activities at their respective institutions or SME-Detroit Chapter One - The Founding Chapter.

Purpose: To financially support students in their education. Focus: Manufacturing; Engineering; Engineering, Industrial. Qualif.: Candidates must be SME Student Chapter members; must be nominated by their faculty advisors; must be enrolled full-time undergraduate or graduate students; must be in manufacturing engineering, engineering technology, industrial technology, technical or related majors. Criteria: Preference is given to candidates who best meet the requirements.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. Scholarship funds may be used for credit toward books, fees or tuition only. Connie and Robert T. Gunter Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially support students in their education. Focus: Manufacturing. Qualif.: Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in a degree program in manufacturing engineering or technology; must have completed a minimum of 30 college credit hours; must have a GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who will best meet the requirements.

Gene Haas Foundation Manufacturing Technology Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage students to attend the “Careers in Technology” event. Focus: Manufacturing. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or undergraduate student seeking an associate or baccalaureate degree in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology or a related field; must have a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; must attend the SME Great lakes Advanced Productivity Careers in Technology. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who pursue degrees in the state of Michigan and from a school in the state of Michigan.

Clinton J. Helton Manufacturing Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially support students in their education. Focus: Manufacturing. Qualif.: Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in a degree seeking program in manufacturing engineering, technology or related field at an approved Colorado college (Colorado State University or University of Colorado); must have completed a minimum of 30 college credit hours; must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who will best meet the requirements.

Henry Ford Academy Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist high school seniors and undergraduate students to attend college. Focus: Engineering; Technology. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors from Henry Ford Academy pursuing a bachelor/associate degree in engineering or technology at an accredited college or university in the U.S.; have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Applicants who attend University of Michigan-Dearborn will be given preference.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. Scholarship funds may be used for credit toward books, fees or tuition only. To Apply: Applicants must submit two reference letters, one from a Henry Ford Academy instructor.

Remarks: Renewal of scholarship requires a GPA of 3.0.

Lucile B. Kaufman Women's Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially support students in their education. Focus: Manufacturing; Technology. Qualif.: Applicants must be enrolled full-time undergraduate students in a degree program in manufacturing engineering, technology, or related field in the U.S. or Canada; must be female; have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; have completed at least 30 college credits; pursuing a career in manufacturing engineering or manufacturing technology. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who best meet the requirements.

Wayne Kay Co-op Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially support students in their education. Focus: Manufacturing. Qualif.: Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in a manufacturing engineering or technology degree program in the U.S. or Canada; must be working through a co-op program in a manufacturing related environment; must have completed a minimum of 30 college credit hours; have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; must provide evidence of demonstrated excellence related to manufacturing engineering or technology that may include a project completed for the applicant's employer. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who best meet the requirements.

Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a degree program in manufacturing or related field at a two year Community College or trade school in the U.S. or Canada; freshman or sophomore with less than 60 college credit hours completed and pursuing a career in manufacturing engineering or technology; have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who best meet the requirements.

Edward S. Roth Manufacturing Engineering Scholarships (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist high school seniors and undergraduate students to attend college. Focus: Manufacturing. Qualif.: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen; must be a graduating high school senior or a current full-time graduate or undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in manufacturing engineering from an ABET-accredited school (California Polytechnic State University, CA; California State Polytechnic University, CA; University of Miami, FL; Bradley University, IL; Central State University, OH; Miami University, OH; Boston University, MA; Worcester Polytechnic Institute, MA; University of Massachusetts, MA; St. Cloud State University, MN; The University of Texas - Pan American, TX; Brigham Young University, UT; Utah State University, UT); must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants with demonstrated financial need, minority students, and students participating in a Co-Op program.

Prof. George Schneider, Jr. Manufacturing Technology Education Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially support students in their education. Focus: Manufacturing. Qualif.: Applicants must be enrolled at least 6 credit hours per semester; pursuing a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology or related field at the Lawrence Technological University; have a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; have completed at least 60 college credit hours. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who will best the requirements.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. Scholarship funds may be used for credit toward books, fees or tuition only. To Apply: The College of Engineering Dean at Lawrence Technological University will recommend two to three candidates for the scholarship annually. A letter of recommendation for the nominated student is provided by the Chair of the School of Technology at Lawrence Technological University.

SME Directors Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially support students in their education. Focus: Manufacturing. Qualif.: Applicants must be enrolled full-time undergraduate students in a manufacturing degree program at a U.S. or Canadian college; have completed at least 30 college credit hours; pursuing a career in manufacturing; have a GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who demonstrate leadership skills in a community, academic, or professional environment.

SME Education Foundation Family Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support the children or grandchildren of SME members. Focus: Manufacturing. Qualif.: Applicant must pursue a degree in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology, or a related manufacturing field of study; must be a resident and attending in an accredited institution in the U.S. or Canada; must have at least one parent or grandparent that became an SME member for 2 years in good standing; must be graduating high school senior or undergraduate with up to 30 credit hours completed; enrolling full-time at a college or university; have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; have a minimum 1000 SAT score and/or 21 ACT score. Criteria: Recipient selection is based on academic excellence; communication and interpersonal skills; interest in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology, or related field; and on extracurricular activities.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must complete the Scholarship Application Process; and submit a 300-word student statement letter explaining: career objectives in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology, or related fields; educational objectives; how the scholarship will help with the objectives; reason for entering this field. Applicants must also include a 2-page resume; official transcripts; two letters of recommendation from current or former employers or teachers; a copy of SAT or ACT test results; an essay about the applicant's favorite manufacturing engineer. Deadline: February 1.

SME Ford PAS Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist high school seniors and undergraduate students in their college education. Focus: Engineering; Technology. Qualif.: Applicant must be a current or former student of a Ford PAS program at their high school or in a Ford PAS after-school/weekend/summer/college program; must be pursuing a bachelor/associate degree in engineering or technology at an accredited college or university in the U.S.; have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who attend a Ford Advanced Education Program partner school or university.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. Scholarship funds may be used for credit toward books, fees or tuition only. To Apply: Applicants must submit two reference letters, one from a Ford PAS instructor.

Remarks: Renewal of scholarship requires a GPA of 3.0.

Myrtle and Earl Walker Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially support students in their education. Focus: Manufacturing; Technology. Qualif.: Applicant must be an enrolled full-time undergraduate student in a degree program in manufacturing engineering or technology in the U.S. or Canada; must have completed at least 15 college credit hours or one semester; must be pursuing a career in manufacturing engineering or technology; must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who best meet the requirements.

Allen and Loureena Weber Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist high school seniors and undergraduate students in their college education. Focus: Manufacturing; Mechanical engineering; Engineering; Industrial Engineering. Qualif.: Applicant must be a student of the University of Northern Kentucky or pursuing an associate's degree or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial engineering, engineering technology or industrial technology with a satisfactory GPA; should reflect the interest of the donor in “individuals who possess technical aptitude and desire for education and practical learning”. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on: First preference: graduates of Dayton High School (Dayton, KY); Second preference: other high schools in the Dayton, KY area including Newport High School (Newport, KY).

William E. Weisel Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
