GUNZBERG, Lynn M(arian) 1944-2002


OBITUARY NOTICE—See index for CA sketch: Born April 21, 1944, in Buffalo, NY; died of cancer July 4, 2002, in Providence, RI. Educator and author. Gunzberg was an assistant professor of Italian studies at Brown University. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where she received her B.A. in 1966, and the University of California at Berkeley, where she earned her Ph.D. in Italian literature in 1982. She quickly found a teaching position at Brown University following graduation, becoming associate dean of the college in 1986 and an adjunct associate professor in 1993. Gunzberg was the author of Strangers at Home: Jews in the Italian Literary Imagination (1992).
