Guppy, Mary Jane (ca. 1860)
The first wife of Spiritualist Samuel Guppy and a medium for physical phenomena, apports, automatic drawings, and psychic lights. Accounts of her phenomena are given in Mary Jane; or Spiritualism chemically explained, with Spirit Drawings, a book published anonymously in 1863. Samuel Guppy was known to be its author.
