D&bricht, Johanna Elisabeth
D&bricht, Johanna Elisabeth, German soprano; b. Weissenfels, Sept. 16,1692; d. Darmstadt, Feb. 23, 1786. Her parents were the singers Daniel Dobricht (1650–94) and Katharina Elisabeth Grosse. She studied in Weimar with Christoph Alt. After singing at the Leipzig opéra, she became a court and church singer in Darmstadt. She also made tours as a concert artist. In 1740 she was granted a pension by the Darmstadt court, but she continued to appear in public for many years thereafter. In 1713 she married Ernst Christian Hesse.
