Candy ★★ 1968 (R)
Sexual satire, based on the book by Terry Southern and Mason Hoffenberg, can't sustain its simple premise. The teenaged nubile, blonde, and naive title character (Aulin) sets out to discover her sexual awakening and gets chased by every kook she meets, including guru Brando, alcohlic poet Burton, gardener Starr, general Matthau, hunchback Aznavour, surgeon Coburn, and even her own dad, Astin. Very much of part of its psychedelic age. 124m/C VHS, DVD . FR IT Ewa Aulin, Marlon Brando, Charles Aznavour, Richard Burton, Ringo Starr, James Coburn, Walter Matthau, John Huston, John Astin, Elsa Martinelli, Anita Pallenberg, “Sugar Ray” Robinson; D: Christian Marquand; W: Buck Henry; C: Giuseppe Rotunno.
