British poet. Name variations: Ann More Candler. Born Ann More in 1740; died 1814; children: 4 (3 died in infancy).
Spent time with her children in Ipswich workhouse as result of husband's alcoholism; was eventually supported by Elizabeth Cobbold and others; wrote poems for Ipswich journal and detailed her life in Poetical Attempts by Ann Candler, a Suffolk Cottager, with a Short Narrative of Her Life (1803).
