Spanish princess and duchess of Galliera and Montpensier. Name variations: Louisa Fernanda; Louise Bourbon; Louise of Spain. Born on January 30, 1832; died on February 2, 1897; daughter of Ferdinand VII, king of Spain (r. 1813–1833), and his fourth wife, Maria Cristina I of Naples (1806–1878); sister of Isabella II (1830–1904), queen of Spain; married Anton or Antoine (1824–1890), duke of Montpensier, on October 10, 1846; children: Amalie (1851–1870); Christine (1852–1879); Marie de Regla (1856–1861); Ferdinand (1859–1873); Anthony or Antoine Bourbon, 4th duke of Galliera and duke of Montpensier; Maria Isabella (1848–1919); Maria de las Mercedes (1860–1878, who married Alphonso XII, king of Spain); Philipp (1862–1864); Louis (1867–1874).
