Han Pil-Hwa (1942–)

North Korean speedskater. Born Jan 21, 1942, in Nampo (when Korea was occupied by Japan).

Won a silver medal for the 3,000 meters at Innsbruck Olympics (1964), the only North Korean speedskater to ever win an Olympic medal; won a bronze medal for the 3,000 meters at World championships (1966); placed 9th in the 3,000 at Sapporo Olympics (1972), the last race of her career; coached; became a member of the North Korean Parliament (1998).
