Britton, Nan (1896–1991)
American paramour. Born Nov 9, 1896, in Claridon, Ohio; died in Oregon, 1991; children: (with Warren Harding) Elizabeth Ann Britton.
Long-time mistress of President Warren G. Harding (1917–23), was smuggled in and out of the White House during his presidency, aided by the Secret Service; after Harding's sudden and mysterious death (Aug 1923), no longer received child support; desperate for money, wrote the infamous tell-all The President's Daughter (1927).
