PERSONAL:

Born 1918, in Willow Springs, MO; died July 16, 1985, in Long Beach, CA; son of George and Nora Britton; married, 1946; wife's name Nadine; children: Becky Britton-Volz. Education: Attended Drury College and Central Bible Institute.

CAREER:

Ordained minister of Assemblies of God, 1949; later affiliated with the Pentecostal Latter-Rain Movement and considered by some to be a prophet of the movement. Pastor of a church in Highland View, FL, c. 1949; part-time minister and evangelist in the 1950s; Overcomer Ministry, Springfield, MO, minister and administrator, 1962-85. Participant in international evangelistic tours; also appeared on radio programs. Worked as an insurance sales representative in the 1950s. Military service: U.S. Marine Corps, paratrooper; served during World War II.
