Mimusops (family Sapotaceae) A genus of trees in which the leaves are stipulate. There are 8 sepals, 24 petals, and 8 stamens. M. elengi is a handsome ornamental, and also has medicinal properties. There are 57 species, occurring in the Old World tropics, mainly in Africa.
