SILVIU, GEORGE
SILVIU, GEORGE (originally Silviu Goliger ; 1899– ), Romanian poet and journalist. Silviu's verse collections include Flori şi fluturi ("Flowers and Butterflies," 1922) and Infrângeri ("Defeats," 1934). He also wrote children's plays such as Motanul incălţat ("Puss-in-Boots," 1923), a work of literary importance produced in collaboration, and Intîmplaˇri cu tîlc ("Meaningful Incidents," 1957), a volume of classical and ultramodern fables.
