Dīrghatamas (Skt., ‘long darkness’). A Ṛg Vedic ṛṣi. Dīrghatamas or Dirghatapas (‘long austerity’) is traditionally known as the author of Ṛg Veda 1. 140 and 1. 164, one of the most philosophical and obscure hymns.
