Surname is pronounced "Margoleez"; born May 18, 1941, in Oxford, England; daughter of Joseph (a physician) and Ruth (a real estate investor; maiden name, Walters) Margoyles. Education: Attended the Oxford High School for Girls and Newnham College, Cambridge University, where she joined the Footlights Club theatre group; Guildhall School of Music and Drama, 1959.
