Brother of Kevin Bacon (an actor). Education: Earned music degree from Lehman College.

Career: Composer. Goode News (a folk/rock band), member, c. 1970s; toured with Goode News and recorded for Columbia Records; recorded two solo albums for Monument/CBS; began composing music for film and television, 1985; Bacon Brothers (a folk/rock/soul/country band), member, 1995–.

Awards, Honors: Emmy Award, for The Kennedys; CableACE Award nomination, for The Man Who Loved Sharks; Television Music Award and Gold Plaque Award, Chicago International Film Festival, both for LBJ; Emmy Award nomination, for Young Freud.
