Purpose: To assist individuals who wish to advance their knowledge in the culinary arts. Focus: Culinary arts. Qua-lif.: Applicant must be a new student toward the 12-month Culinary Arts Certificate Program; have a GPA of 3.0 or higher (for applicants who have been students during the five years prior to the application). Criteria: Recipients are selected based on merit, work experience, culinary goals and skills and references.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed Culinary Trust Scholarship application form; a project proposal (two pages, double-spaced) illustrating their culinary goals; two letters of reference on business or personal letterhead; a current academic transcript; a non-refundable application fee of $25. Deadline: December 15.

Harry A. Bell Travel Grants (All/Grant)

Purpose: Provides financial support for travel and research to food writers during the time in which a proposal is being written. Focus: Culinary arts. Qualif.: Applicants must write a proposal that demonstrates contribution to knowledge about food. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated by a committee of culinary professionals.

Funds Avail.: $3,000-4,000. To Apply: Applicants must download a Harry A. Bell Grant application form; submit a project description (three pages, double-spaced) that includes: steps had led to this project, relevance of the project, contribution to the knowledge about food, intended audience; a brief description of projected budget; two references written on business or professional letterhead with complete contact information (professional references that will provide an opinion on the applicant and the applicant's work). Deadline: May 31.

Cuisinart Culinary Study Scholarships (All, Professional Development/Scholarship)
