Lambe, Walter

Lambe, Walter, English composer; b. c. 1450; d. 1499. He became a clerk of the choir of St. George’s Chapel (1479), serving as Informator there (1479-85?), and resumed his post as clerk (1492). He distinguished himself as a composer of polyphonic choral music, and contributed many works to The Eton Choirbook (ed. by F. Harrison, Musica Britannica, X-XII, 1956-61; 2nd ed., 1969-73).
