Dutch mystery writer Leyden (Lorre) is vacationing in Instanbul, where he meets a fan, Col. Haki (Katch), at a party. Haki, the head of the secret police, informs Leyden that the body of arch criminal Dimitrios Makropoulous (Scott) has washed ashore and the man was stabbed to death. Leyden decides to write a novel about the criminal and delves into a dark world of intrigue and danger. Adapted from Eric Ambler's novel “A Coffin for Dimitrios.” 96m/B VHS .
