Grand duchess of Tuscany. Name variations: Alice of Bourbon-Parma; Alice of Parma; Alix of Parma. Born Alice Maria on December 27, 1849, in Parma; died on January 16, 1935, in Schwertberg, Upper Austria; daughter of Louise of Bourbon-Berry (1819–1864) and Charles III, duke of Parma; became second wife of Ferdinand IV (1835–1908), titular grand duke of Tuscany (r. 1859–1908), on January 11, 1868; children: Leopold Ferdinand (1868–1935, who married Wilhelmine Adamowic); Louisa Toselli (1870–1947); Joseph Ferdinand (1872–1942); Peter Ferdinand (1874–1948, who married Maria Cristina of Sicily ); Anna Maria Theresa (1879–1961); Agnes Maria (1891–1945); and five others.
