Wenzel, Hanni (1951–)

Liechtenstein Alpine skier. Name variations: Hanny Wenzel. Born Dec 4, 1954, in Straubirn, Germany; sister of Andreas Wenzel and Petra Wenzel (both Alpine skiers).

Won 32 World Cup titles, including giant slalom (1974, 1980), overall (1978, 1980), slalom (1978), combined (tied with Annemarie Proell-Moser in 1979, 1980, 1983); won 4 Olympic medals: bronze in slalom at Innsbruck (1976), silver in downhill, gold in slalom, gold in giant slalom at Lake Placid (1980); at World championships, placed 1st in slalom (1974) and combined (1980).
