Ottoman princess. Name variations: Sah Sultana. Born c. 1490 in Trebizond, a Black Sea caravan city in Asia Minor (present-day Turkey); dau. of Selim I the Grim, Ottoman sultan (r. 1512–1520) and Hafsa (d. 1534); sister of Suleiman or Suleyman the Magnificent, Ottoman sultan (r. 1520–1566), and Hatice; aunt of Mihrimah (1522–1575); m. Lutfi Pasha (a grand vizier).
According to accounts of the period, protested against husband's inhumane treatment of a prostitute; when husband asserted that he would continue to punish prostitutes in this way, lost her temper and was beaten by him; divorced husband, ending his career.
