Sagua la Grande
Sagua la Grande (sä´gwä lä grän´dā), city (1984 pop. 50,000), Villa Clara prov., central Cuba, on the Sagua la Grande River. It is a road and rail hub and the commercial and processing center for the surrounding area, where sugarcane and cattle are raised. Sangua la Grande possesses some manufacturing, primarily in heavy industry. The city's origins date back to the 17th cent.
