American musician. Name variations: Dixie Chicks. Born Emily Burns Erwin, Aug 16, 1972, in Pittsfield, MA; sister of Martie Seidel (fellow Dixie Chicks member); m. Charlie Robison (singer and songwriter).
Vocalist, guitarist, banjoist, and Dobro player, was an original member of country-music group Dixie Chicks, which was formed in Dallas (1989); with group, released back-to-back multiplatinum and Grammy-winning country albums, Wide Open Spaces (1998) and Fly (1999). Additional albums with Dixie Chicks include Thank Heavens for Dale Evans (1990), Little Ol' Cowgirl (1992), and Shouldn't a Told You That (1993).
