Infancy Gospels. The apocryphal gospels retailing stories about the birth and childhood of Jesus. The best known are the Protogospel of James (2nd cent.), Infancy Gospel of Thomas (a little later?), and Gospel of Pseudo-Matthew (8th or 9th cent.).
