Gurmukhī (Pañjābī, ‘from the mouth of the Gurū’). Sacred script of the Sikhs. The Gurmukhī alphabet consists of thirty-five letters and is simpler than, but closely related to, the Devanāgrī script used for Sanskrit and Hindī.
