Shanghai Tower

Shanghai Tower, skyscraper in Shanghai, China. When completed, it will be the second-tallest building in the world and the tallest structure in China, standing 2,073 ft (632 m) high with 121 floors. Designed by the American architectural firm Gensler, it was begun in 2009. The glass and steel exterior, with a rounded triangular footprint, curved facade, transparent double curtain wall, and spiraling form, was topped out in 2013. The interior, scheduled for completion in 2014, will contain retail and office space, restaurants, entertainment venues, and a luxury hotel. It is the tallest of a grouping of three skyscrapers anchoring the Lujiazui financial district in Pudong, Shanghai, the other two being the Shanghai World Financial Center and the Jin Mao Tower.
