In an increasingly fast-paced and demanding business world, online education is an appealing option for busy professionals. The AACSB-accredited Suffolk MBA Online has no residency requirement; therefore, students can complete the entire degree fully online. Alternatively, students may complement their online courses with four Suffolk MBA campus-based courses in Boston, Franklin, North Andover, or West Barnstable, Massachusetts; or with 6 transfer credits from another AACSB-accredited M.B.A. program.

The Suffolk MBA Online experience includes video clips, PowerPoint slides, two-way audio, threaded ongoing discussions, interactive e-mail, weekly real-time chat rooms, conference calls, and document sharing. Each semester, an online New Student Orientation introduces students to online skills and ensures familiarity with the virtual classroom, faculty members, and classmates prior to class start dates.

Students must have a moderate level of experience working on the Web and access to Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher on a PC. To take full advantage of the learning experience, the following minimum system profiles are required: Microsoft Windows—Windows 98, 98Se, Me, NT, 2000, or XP; 64 MB RAM; 56.6 kbps modem (DSL or cable is recommended); SoundCard and speakers. Technical assistance is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Suffolk MBA Online is a ten- to eighteen-course program, depending upon a student's previous educational background. The degree can be completed in nine to sixteen months of full-time study. Alternatively, it can be completed in twenty-one to thirty-six months of part-time study, taking two courses per term (fall, spring, and summer). Students have five years to complete the degree. Understanding the importance of the global economy to today's business world, all Suffolk MBA students take the required Managing in the Global Environment course.

Suffolk MBA Online students customize their degree through their choice of electives. Students choose one of four specializations: accounting, finance, information systems, and marketing. A specialization is not required. Instead, students may choose from a wide variety of electives that cross various functional areas.

Suffolk MBA Online also offers the Accelerated MBA for Attorneys, the Accelerated MBA for CPAs, and the Accelerated MBA for ASQ (American Society for Quality) members.

Students who have a strong undergraduate preparation in business or management may be able to complete the program in as few as ten courses. Students may waive core courses if they have completed equivalent course work at the undergraduate or graduate level at an accredited school within the past seven years with a grade of B or better. Waiver evaluations are completed at the point of admission to the Suffolk MBA Online program. Alternatively, tentative waiver evaluations can be completed for prospective students upon request.
