International Association of Law Libraries Scholarship Program (Professional Development/Scholarship)

Purpose: To enable law librarians who are normally unable to benefit from the association’s activities to attend the Annual Course in International Law Librarianship that forms the annual conference of the association. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be in current employment in librarianship with significant legal context to their work; applicants need not to be members of the association. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on demonstrated promise to make a significant contribution to the profession of law librarianship. Preference is given to applicants who cannot otherwise attend the conference without the scholarship; who have not yet received in IALL bursary or scholarship in the past years of the program; and who have not attended a conference outside their own country. Program is not open to officers or members of the Board of the Association.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. To Apply: Applicants must submit a full resume including name and qualifications; full contact details; details of present job; present and past employers; membership in professional associations; attendance of conferences. They must also provide an essay stating the reasons for wanting to attend the conference, the expected benefits and how you intend to disseminate those benefits, along with a letter of reference from the employer including permission to attend the conference.
