Convergence Assistantship Grants (Undergraduate/Grant)

Purpose: To provide students in fiber arts programs the opportunity to assist internationally known instructors and to participate in the Convergence experience. Focus: Art. Qualif.: Applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited academic program and available to attend a Training Class Saturday at the Convention Center. Criteria: Selection of applicants will be based on their application materials.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Awardee

must submit a Letter of Nomination from the Professor; must provide the Convergence complete registration form and personal statement. Application documents must be sent to: HGA, 1255 Boford Hwy, Ste. 211, Suwanee, GA 30024. Deadline: April 3.

Mearl K. Gable II Memorial Grants (Professional Development/Grant)

Purpose: To provide funds for HGA members to study in non-accredited programs for any skill level. Focus: Art. Qualif.: Recipients must be HGA members. Criteria: Selection of applicants will be based on their application materials.

Funds Avail.: $100. To Apply: Application form must be printed and must have the following: Name of school or provider of instruction, title and short description of course (attach brochure). Applicant must provide a resume of the background, current activities, and future goals of the applicant in the fiber field. Application must be mailed to: Gable Grant Administrator, Handweavers Guild of America, Inc., 1255 Buford Hwy., Ste. 211, Suwanee, GA 30024. Deadline: February 1.

HGA and Dendel Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To further the education in the field of fiber arts, including training for research, textile history, and conservation. Focus: Art. Qualif.: Applicant must be enrolled in accredited undergraduate or graduate programs in the United States and Canada. Criteria: Applications will be evaluated by the Scholarship Committee.

Funds Avail.: Amounts of the awards are based on income from the scholarship funds. To Apply: Application forms are available on the website. Applicant must have the following: Transcript (a copy of the transcript must accompany the application), and slide description sheet. Application and other required materials must be sent to: HGA Scholarship Chair, Handweavers Guild of America, Inc., 1255 Buford Hwy., Ste. 211 Suwanee, GA 30024. Deadline: March 15.

Silvio and Eugenio Petrini Grants (Professional Development/Grant)

Purpose: To provide educational opportunity to HGA members and to increase the awareness of and appreciation for the fiber arts. Focus: Art. Qualif.: Recipients must be a HGA members. Criteria: Selection of applicants will be based on application materials.
