Conrad N. Hilton Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help American students study abroad. Focus: Social sciences. Qualif.: Applicant must be a Gettysburg College senior or junior undergraduate student planning to study abroad; have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA(can be waived for applicants with strong needs or qualifications); and must be social science or interdisciplinary majors. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.

Funds Avail.: $10,000. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply:

Applicant must submit academic transcript; a resume; a statement of career aspirations (maximum of 1,000 words); a letter of recommendation from the candidate's faculty advisor or department chair; and a copy of a 10-15 page paper (within the last four months) from a course in the applicant's major field of study. Submit it at Gettysburg College. Deadline: First day of Spring semester.

Clifford Roberts Graduate Fellowships (Doctorate/Fellowship)

Purpose: To support study and education dealing with the role of government in a free society, the relationship between international and domestic issues, and improved understanding of world affairs. Focus: Public affairs. Qua-lif.: Applicant must be at an advanced stage of their doctoral candidacies, preferably preparing a dissertation. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.

Funds Avail.: $7000-$10,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae; a statement describing the nature and scope of the dissertation; a writing sample (10-15 pages) on a topic related to the dissertation; a 1,000 word statement of career aspirations; two letters of recommendation; and other required materials by the university. Submit materials at the participating universities. Deadline: February 28.

Ann Cook Whitman Scholarships for Perry High School(Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help students obtain undergraduate degrees in furtherance of education and leadership skills. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a high school senior student at Perry High School planning to receive an undergraduate education; and have an average of B and above (can be waived for applicants with strong needs or qualifications). Criteria: Selection is based on need and merit.

Funds Avail.: $4000 each year for four years. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Applicants must submit an academic transcript; a resume; a statement of career aspirations (maximum of 1,000 words); a letter of recommendation from the candidate's faculty advisor or guidance counselor; another letter of recommendation from a member of the Perry, Ohio community, other than a family member; and documentation from Perry High School on its needs-based assessment procedures for its nominees. Submit materials at the Perry High School. Deadline: March 1.

Ann Cook Whitman Washington, DC Scholarships(Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist graduating African-American seniors from the District of Columbia public education system in obtaining an undergraduate degree in furtherance of their education and leadership skills. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be an African-American senior student from any of four eligible high schools (Spingarn, H.D. Woodson, Ballou, and Eastern) pursuing an undergraduate education; and have an average of B and above (can be waived for applicants with strong needs or qualifications). Criteria: Selection is based on need and merit.

Funds Avail.: $4000 each year for four years. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed

application form; academic transcript; a statement of career aspirations (maximum of 500 words); identification of colleges/universities applied to; a letter of recommendation from a faculty member or the guidance counselor; and another letter of recommendation from a member of the Washington, DC community, other than a family member. Submit materials at the applicant's respective high school. Deadline: March 1.
