American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage undergraduate study in family and consumer sciences and its subspecialties. Focus: Sciences. Qualif.: Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States; must be planning to pursue or currently pursuing a degree in family and consumer sciences or its specialties at the undergraduate level on a full-time basis; must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program that will continue into the coming academic year or have been admitted to an undergraduate program for the coming academic year; must be willing to commit themselves to meet the specific requirements of the scholarship for which they are applying. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on ability to pursue undergraduate study, experience in relation to preparation for study in proposed field, special recognition and awards, participation in professional/community organizations and activities, evidence of professional commitment and leadership, significance of proposed area of study to families and individuals, professional goals, written communication and evaluation of applicant's recommendations.

Funds Avail.: $5,000. To Apply: Applicants must complete the application form; must have a maximum of three evalu-ators; must obtain official or unofficial copies of transcript; must mail five hard copies of labeled CDs of the completed application form. Deadline: January 7.
