American Association of State Troopers Scholarship Foundation First Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for the education of students who are dependents of the members of American Association of State Troopers, Inc. Focus: Law enforcement. Qualif.: Applicants must be high school or college students who are sons or daughters of a trooper members by natural birth, legal adoption, step child, or legal guardian. Criteria: Applicants will be evaluated based on academic performance and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Applicants must submit an official transcripts indicating a minimum 2.5 GPA (4.0 scale) at an accredited school; for high school students: final four-year high school transcripts; for college students: a current official college transcripts indicating all grades earned through the current year which he or she is applying for; letter of acceptance from an accredited college, state university or community college for the academic year; typed essay of 500 words entitled “How my Education Will Advance My Career Plans”; and a small photo attached to the bottom of the application where indicated. Deadline: July 31.

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for the education of students who are dependents of the members of American Association of State Troopers, Inc. Focus: Law enforcement. Qualif.: Applicants must be a high school or college students who are sons or daughters of trooper members by natural birth, legal adoption, step child, or legal guardian. V.J. Johnson Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to a student who intends to use his or her education to pursue a career in law enforcement. Focus: Law enforcement. Qualif.: Applicants must be high school or college students who are sons or a daughters of trooper members by natural birth, legal adoption, step child, or legal guardian (in Florida only). Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants must submit an original and official transcript indicating, a minimum of 3.8 GPA (4.0 scale) was maintained during the fall through spring semesters for which the second scholarship award was granted; a letter or registration notice as proof of enrollment for the academic year; a typed essay of 500 words entitled “How my Education Will Advance My Plans for a Career in Law Enforcement”; and a small photo attached to the bottom of the application where indicated. Deadline: July 31.
