ITA-5
ITA-5 Abbrev. for International Telegraph Alphabet, Number 5. An alphabet which resulted from a joint agreement between the CCITT, now ITU-T, and the ISO. It consists of a subset of ISO-7 in which characters that are “for national use” are either specified or not used at all. The United States adaptation of ITA-5 is ASCII.
