It's All About Love ★ 2003

Danish director Vinterberg, one of the founders of Dogme 95, tries on a futuristic romantic thriller with dismal results. John (Phoenix) arrives in New York to sign final divorce papers with his estranged wife Elena (Danes), an ice-skating superstar. Elena is in some kind of mysterious trouble and the twosome elude her flunkies to be together, later learning that Elena has been cloned for insurance purposes. They then go on the run. And Penn is around as John's brother who muses while constantly flying around the world (and no, it doesn't make any sense). Both American leads have really bad, allegedly Polish, accents and although it's supposed to be New York it was filmed in a Swedish movie studio. 104m/C DVD . US Joaquin Rafael (Leaf) Phoenix, Claire Danes, Sean Penn, Douglas Henshall, Alun Armstrong, Margo Martindale, Mark Strong, Geoffrey Hutchings; D: Thomas Vinterberg; C: Anthony Dod Mantle; M: Zbigniew Preisner.
