Stamey procedure (stay-mee) n. an outdated operation devised to cure stress incontinence of urine in women in which the neck of the bladder is stitched to the anterior abdominal wall with unabsorbable suture material. See also colposuspension. [ T. A. Stamey, US surgeon]
