haemoconcentration (hee-moh-kon-sĕn-tray-shŏn) n. an increase in the proportion of red blood cells relative to the plasma, brought about by a decrease in the volume of plasma or an increase in the concentration of circulating red blood cells (see polycythaemia). Compare haemodilution.
