Schuyt, Nico(laas)

Schuyt, Nico(laas), Dutch composer; b. Alkmaar, Jan. 2, 1922; d. Amsterdam, Jan. 25, 1992. He received training from Jacob van Domselaer (piano and harmony), Eberhard Rebling (piano), and Willem Hijstek (theory) before completing his studies with Bertus van Lier (composition; 1949–52). From 1964 he was active with Donemus in Amsterdam.
