Schneider, Julius
Schneider, Julius, German organist, teacher, and composer; b. Berlin, July 6, 1805; d. there, April 3, 1885. He studied composition with Bernhard Klein, and organ and piano with various teachers in Berlin. In 1829 he became organist of the Friedrichwerder church in Berlin, and in 1854 was appointed teacher of organ at the Berlin Inst. of Church Music. He composed a variety of organ pieces, a Piano Concerto, and some chamber music.
