Curtin, Phyllis (b Clarksburg, West Virginia, 1921). Amer. soprano. Début with New England Opera Th. 1946 (Lisa in Queen of Spades). Joined NY City Opera 1953; Glyndebourne 1959; Vienna 1960; NY Met 1961. Sang Walton's Cressida in NY 1955–6. Retired 1984. Taught at Aspen, Tanglewood, and Boston Univ. Sch. of Arts.
