Wild in the Country ★★½ 1961

Backwoods delinquent Presley is aided in his literary aspirations by woman psychiatrist Lange. Okay, so that's fairly novel. Strange plot lines but in general Elvis is going to college and reading and writing and singing and playing his guitar. Meanwhile Weld wanders around seductively to provide that hint of Tennessee Williams ambience as interpreted by Odet but hey, who cares? Interesting if convoluted Elvis dramatic turn. ♫Wild in the Country; In My Way; I Slipped, I Stumbled, I Fell; Lonely Man. 114m/C VHS, DVD .
