Bodies, Rest & Motion
Bodies, Rest & Motion ★★ 1993 (R)
Stagnant 20-something movie in which four young people basically do nothing in the sun-baked town of Enfield, Arizona. Similar to the movie “Singles,” but without the Seattle grunge scene. The title's reference to Newton is fitting: “A body in rest or motion remains in that state unless acted upon by an outside force.” Appealing cast is wasted in listless film that's content to just drift along. Based on the play by Roger Hedden. 94m/C VHS, DVD . Phoebe Cates, Bridget Fonda, Tim Roth, Eric Stoltz, Scott Frederick, Scott Johnson, Alicia Witt, Rich Wheeler, Peter Fonda; D: Michael Steinberg; W: Roger Hedden; C: Bernd Heinl; M: Michael Convertino.
