Kristiansen, Ingrid (1956—)

Norwegian long-distance runner. Born Ingrid Christensen in Trondheim, Norway, on March 21, 1956.

Ingrid Kristiansen won the European championship (10,000 meters) in 1986, the World championship in 1987, and the cross-country World championship in 1987. She also placed first in the London Marathon (1984, 1985 and 1987), the Boston Marathon (1986), the Houston Marathon (1983 and 1984), and the Stockholm Marathon (1980, 1981, and 1982). She was the holder (in 1987) of world records in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters, the marathon and halfmarathon. In the late 1970s, Kristiansen also participated in world and European ski events.
