Clidat, France (1932—)
French pianist. Born in Nantes, France, in 1932.
Born in Nantes in 1932, France Clidat studied in Paris with Lazare-Lévy (1882–1964) from 1948 through 1950, winning a first prize at the end of her course of study. Clidat's enthusiasm for the piano music of Franz Liszt led to a prize-winning series of 24 long-playing recordings of the Hungarian master's works. Her repertoire was extensive, including the complete works of the eccentric French composer Erik Satie and the daunting Third Concerto of Sergei Rachmaninoff.
