Landgravine of Hesse-Cassel. Name variations: Alexandra Nicholaievna; Alexandra Romanov. Born on June 12, 1825; died on August 10, 1844; daughter of Charlotte of Prussia (1798–1860) and Nicholas I (1796–1855), tsar of Russia (r. 1825–1855); married Frederick William, landgrave of Hesse-Cassel, on January 28, 1844. Frederick William was also married to Anne Frederica (1836–1918).
