American photographer. Name variations: Hansel Mieth Hagel. Born in 1909; died at a friend's home in Santa Rosa, California, on February 14, 1998.
Hansel Mieth used her camera to document the Great Depression and World War II for Time, Fortune, and Life magazines. At the time of her death, at age 88, she lived on a ranch in Santa Rosa, California.
